Ah, vacation time! It sure makes one itchy to escape. And what better than the beach? You can swim, you can ride the waves, play volleyball, sun yourself, and even make sandcastles. That all sounds like serious fun!
Weekend fun
The awesome Cocoa Beach is located in Brevard County of Florida. Also known as Space Coast because of its proximity to Cape Canaveral (home to NASA), this is the perfect place for those who’d like to mix sand time with watching launches and seeing rockets jetting off into space.
There are many tourists who like driving down from Orlando which is just 50 minutes away and spending their weekends here. And then there are those who love it so much that they either keep extending their weekends or plan for a long stay from the start.
While earlier this was more of a winter getaway, now it is a thriving tourist destination all year round.
Surfer’s Delight
This golden sanded beach proudly proclaims that it is the best surfing beach in Florida, and many surfers agree. It is believed that the best breaks are near the Minuteman Causeway and at the Westgate Cocoa Beach Pier.
So now you know where to head out to with your trusty board!
And don’t worry about supplies. There are several rental locations out here with everything you would need on the water. So, what are you waiting for? The waves are calling out for you!
Shopper’s Paradise
Can any Cocoa Beach, FL, vacation be complete without retail therapy? Of course not! You just have to visit Ron Jon Surf Shop, proclaimed to be the biggest surf shop in the world. You will get everything beachy here, and more.
Also, if you are interested, the Florida Surf Museum is right next door. All you have to do to immerse yourself in surfing history is to pop into it.
And there are quite a few shopping centers nearby too. They too are stuffed with everything that has something to do with the beach – from swimwear to sunblock to seashell jewelry – they have it all!
Munch Time
Cocoa Beach has something delish for every tummy. The most famous name here is Coconuts on the Beach, which is also a popular date night location. You will love its shrimp and burgers. Yet another one is the Sunset Waterfront Bar and Grill. Patrons love to sit and munch on their crab cakes or shrimp alfredo while gazing at the gorgeous sunset. And finally, there is Pelican’s Bar and Grill, whose crab and shrimp dip is divine.
If you prefer more high-brow dining options, you can head over to Gregory’s Steak and Seafood Grille. Their pan-seared scallops melt in one’s mouth! Or you could go to the Heidelberg Restaurant, which serves European and German dishes.
As you can see, Cocoa Beach has something for everyone. It seems to be calling out your name – go ahead, book today!
